Witness to Love’s unique methodology transforms existing models of Marriage Formation into a process that not only prepares couples for the Sacrament of Matrimony but also enriches existing marriages among mentors chosen by the engaged. This two for one evangelization process is founded upon classical principles of relational virtues in a way that truly renews trust among young Catholic couples and families as well as the parishes that become their new home of faith. Witness to Love provides this process through leadership formation as well as through sacramental preparation and enrichment ultimately leading to parish renewal. The focus is to create an environment/platform through the Marriage Mentors that draw couples closer together to Christ and the Parish.
Witness to Love Couples Marriage Prep Program is a virtues-based, Catechumenate model of marriage renewal and preparation that integrates modern principles of psychology and the virtues to help couples facilitate an authentic dialogue about their relationship. What makes Witness to Love unique is that the engaged couple chooses their own mentor couple. This is a couple they both admire and see as a source of faith formation. This mentor couple gives them a concrete connection and integration into the parish. Through the sharing of the mentor couples’ own marriage journey, the engaged couple inherits a “lifeline” of support in their commitment to Jesus and His Church. The mentors must meet some basic requirements and are coached by a trained parish coordinator to mentor the engaged couple. Unlike other mentor models, there is no need to build trust in order for the marriage prep process to work – the trust already exists. Deep conversions, encounters with Christ, and renewal happen consistently for both the mentors and the engaged couple.

The Civil Marriage Initiative by Witness to Love is a comprehensive, revolutionary, nationally-researched and collaborative project. This project equips parishes and dioceses who desire to seek out, support, and inspire couples in civil unions to pursue transformative sacramental marriage formation. Couples seeking a convalidation would then follow a mentor/virtues based program similar to the WTL Couples Marriage Prep Program, but tailored to their specific needs as a civilly married couple.

[FREE] Be More: A Marriage Formation Retreat by Witness to Love was developed to provide couples a pathway to grow in community, identity and understanding their mission. This retreat is carefully curated and jam packed with 14 core lessons including videos and resources from engaging and relatable Marriage Champions from around the country. Together, you will explore Theology topics and Life Skills topics as you grow closer to one another, Christ and his Church.
Be More is recommended as the retreat portion in forming Witness to Love engaged couples, Civil Marriage Initiative couples, Mentor couples and ALL married couples. We recommend ALL WTL couples complete ALL (6) retreat Theology Lessons. Life Skills Lessons may be assigned using the ‘WTL Scavenger Hunt List’. ALL registered participants have access to ALL retreat lessons (Theology and Life Skills).

[FREE] Be Light Date Night Mini Series by Witness to Love is a 5 part marriage enrichment and renewal series. Together we will explore various topics including belonging, expectations, the need for community, couples works of mercy and living as missionary disciples. Each date night will include a video from a dynamic couple, reflection questions and recommended resources.
Be Light Date Night Series is a great introduction into the five year marriage movement, Be Light: Year of Belonging (first of five years). The Date Night Series could easily be hosted via zoom if unable to host in a parish setting. All couples registered for ANY program/series in the WTL App have access to the FREE resources in the ‘Open Registration’ section of the main menu.
